We bring over a short list of Korean things we actually use — skincare with a number behind it, tea from a named hillside, bars made by hand for our own hair-spa ritual.
JIHEE SEOUL is a small operation based just outside Dallas, in The Colony, Texas. We are not a marketplace and we do not carry hundreds of SKUs. Everything here we have used ourselves, and we try to explain it the way we would explain it to a friend.
What we look for
Most skincare marketing is adjectives. We would rather have numbers. When a brand tells us a product contains 40,000 ppm hyaluronic acid, or that a clinical testing institute measured a change over two weeks, that is something we can show you and you can judge. When a brand cannot back a claim, we leave the claim out — even when it would sell better.
You will see this on our product pages. Where there is real study data, we show it, including how many people were tested and for how long. Where there is not, we say nothing rather than imply something.
The same instinct runs through the rest of the shop. Tea gets named by region and harvest, not by adjectives on a tin.
Skincare
MOISTEN is a hyaluronic acid specialist. Their founder worked on hyaluronic acid development at KIST before spending four years building their own patented process. Their ampoules run at concentrations most brands do not attempt.
TIUWOO works with AAPE, a patented ingredient made from human adipose tissue–derived stem cell conditioned media. We state that plainly on every TIUWOO product page, because you should be able to decide for yourself whether that is something you want on your face.
Life
DAAE tea comes from Hadong and Boseong, the two regions Korea is known for. The matcha is stone-milled from single-origin Hadong leaf; the sejak is a hand-picked second flush from late spring. Both are 100% green tea, nothing else in the bag.
Our herbal bars are handmade in small batches for the scalp and hair-spa ritual. These are sold in store only, not online — the product page tells you where to find them.
How we talk about results
Everything we sell in skincare is a cosmetic. It works on how skin looks and feels. It does not treat a medical condition, and we will never tell you it does. If a product page here ever reads like a prescription, we have made a mistake and we would like to hear about it.
